Channels are assigned to zones from the channel editor. A/B Channel = the channel pre-selected on each VFO side when entering the zone (must be a zone member; empty = first/second member). Max 250 zones × 250 channels, names up to 16 characters. The No. is assigned automatically (1…N) — zones are renumbered on save, so unlike Channels / Radio IDs / Receive Groups they don't keep gaps. On this radio a Chinese character counts as two.

Channels are assigned to scan lists from the channel editor. Priority channels must be list members; timing uses the CPS ranges (Look Back 0.5–5.0 s, Dropout/Dwell 0.1–5.0 s). Max 250 scan lists × 50 channels, names up to 16 characters. The No. is assigned automatically (1…N) — scan lists are renumbered on save and don't keep gaps.
A channel's start scan list is separate from membership: it is the list the radio scans when you start scanning on that channel, and it can be any list. Set it per channel with the radio button beside each list in the channel editor, or select a list here and use Start on members. Fill unknown uses each channel's first list wherever the start list was never read or names a list that is gone.

The codeplug's contact list (TalkGroups.CSV). Channels reference these by contact name; Call Type and Call Alert round-trip into the codeplug. The No. is assigned automatically (1…N) — talk groups are renumbered on save (the radio compacts this list), so they don't keep gaps.
| No. | TG/DMR ID | Name | Call Type | Call Alert |
|---|
Receive Groups (CPS "Group Call List"): named sets of Group Call talk groups a channel can watch. Channels reference a group via their RX Group List field. Max 250 groups, 64 contacts each.
| No. | Name | Contacts |
|---|
2-Tone Encode (CPS "2-Tone Encode"): paired tone frequencies for selective calling. Up to 24 entries; frequencies in Hz (0.1 Hz resolution). Names up to 8 characters.
Edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt, the serial write to the radio, and CSV export.
| Slot | Freq1 [Hz] | Freq2 [Hz] | Name |
|---|
5-Tone Encode (CPS "5-Tone Encode"): per-tone signaling. Up to 100 entries; Encode ID is a hex-digit string, tone duration 30–100 ms. Names up to 8 characters.
Edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt, the serial write to the radio, and CSV export.
| No. | Standard | ID | Duration [ms] | Name |
|---|
DTMF Encode (CPS "DTMF Encode"): up to 16 digit strings. Allowed characters: 0–9, A–D, * and #.
Edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt, the serial write to the radio, and CSV export.
| Slot | Digits |

FM broadcast presets (CPS "FM" list): slots 1–100 (sparse slot numbers allowed), frequency 60–108 MHz and a Scan setting (Add = active preset, Del = deleted slot the CPS keeps). The radio's FM-VFO records are preserved automatically.
Edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt and the serial write to the radio.
| No. | Frequency [MHz] | Scan |
|---|
Roaming channels (CPS "Roaming Channel"): the channels the radio roams between, each with a receive/transmit frequency, a Color Code (0–15, or "No Use") and a Slot (Slot1/Slot2/No Use). Roaming Zones group these channels by their list position; names up to 16 characters.
Edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt.
| No. | Name | RX Freq | TX Freq | Color Code | Slot |
|---|
Roaming zones (CPS "Roaming Zone"): each zone groups Roaming Channels. Add channels to a zone via Member Channels. A zone must keep at least one channel; names up to 16 characters.
Edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt.
| No. | Name | Members |
|---|
GPS Roaming (CPS "GPS Roaming"): 32 fixed slots. Each ties a zone to a geographic circle — a centre (latitude/longitude in degrees + minutes, N/S and E/W) and a radius in metres — so the radio switches to that zone inside the circle. Set On/Off off (or the zone to Off) to disable a slot.
Fixed 32 slots (edit only); edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt.
| No. | On/Off | Zone | Latitude | Longitude | Radius [m] |
|---|
Pre-defined SMS (CPS "Pre-defined SMS"): canned text messages the radio can send. Up to 100 messages, each up to 200 characters; messages may span multiple lines.
Edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt.
| No. | Text |
|---|
Hot Keys (CPS "Hot Key"): what each programmable key does. A key is either a Menu shortcut or a Call, and a Call is Analog, Digital, or Off.
The keys are a fixed set of slots, so rows can be edited but not added or removed. Editing a key marks it to be written — keys you leave alone keep exactly the bytes the codeplug arrived with.
Edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt and the direct serial write.
| Key | Mode | Menu | Call Type | Contact | Content |
|---|
Auto Repeater Offset frequencies (CPS "Auto Repeater Offset Frequency"): the repeater-offset presets the radio auto-applies by band. Each is an offset in MHz.
Edits round-trip into the downloaded .rdt.
| No. | Offset [MHz] |

The bulk digital contact database. Not editable here — keep the list from your imported codeplug, or replace it wholesale with one of your own. The choice is applied when you build/download the codeplug and when you export CSVs.
You have no contact lists yet. Add one on My Contact Lists — that page lists where to get a contact list CSV.
The APRS identity, beacon timing (TX power / transmit delay / pre-wave), the TX frequency and slots 1–8, the digital reporting channels, the fixed location and Fix 2–8, symbol/icon, report-type flags, receive filters and the other analog settings on this tab are written into the codeplug and to the radio. What you leave untouched keeps the value in the project's template (the imported codeplug, or the bundled base). Reaching the codeplug only: the Alt Data unit, and on the D890 the East/West of Fix 4–8, which its radio has no place for.
